Metro South Region Spotlight: Growth, Progress, and a Strong Foundation

The New England Surf Metro South Region continues to be a place where grassroots development leads to real player progression. With a dedicated coaching staff, top-tier local facilities, and a clear pathway into Surf’s State program, Metro South is building something special for players and families alike.

Why We’re Proud

Regional Manager Rob Speed shared what makes the Metro South region stand out:

“Over the past three years leading the Metro South region, I’ve had the privilege of watching so many players grow, improve, and take the next step into our State program. It’s been especially rewarding to see graduates from our 2011–2015 age groups now representing Surf at the highest level.

Our local fantastic facilities and passionate, up-and-coming coaching staff continue to set the foundation for success. Grassroots soccer is thriving in Metro South, and we’re just getting started.”

Special Recognition: Coach Luis & 2015 Boys Navy

A special shoutout to Coach Luis and the 2015 Boys Navy team, who have been together since the very beginning of Metro South’s Junior Academy.

This group has consistently shown commitment, growth, and talent over the years. Many players have represented Surf Select, and nearly the entire team is now graduating into our State Boys Program—a huge accomplishment and a testament to the developmental focus in the region. They’ve also secured two tournament trophies this season and are aiming to finish strong as the spring wraps up.

We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved and wish them the best as they continue their Surf journey.
