State Boys and Girls Programs: Year in Review 2023-2024

The 2023-2024 season has been outstanding for the New England Surf State Boys and Girls Programs. Our teams have excelled across leagues and tournaments, showcasing impressive talent and dedication. As we celebrate these achievements, we eagerly anticipate new challenges and continued success in the upcoming season.

State Boys

“It’s been a fantastic year for the New England Surf Boys State Program,” said Kyle Bak, the Boys Director of Coaching. “Our teams have shown incredible talent and determination, achieving great success across various league platforms and tournaments. We are proud of our players’ hard work and commitment, and we look forward to continuing our journey of excellence. The future is bright, and we are confident that our boys will continue to excel.”

The 2023-2024 season has been marked by several notable achievements for our State Boys teams:

  • NECSL Flight Winners: 2012 Sky, 2011 Sky
  • NECSL Championship Weekend Participants: 2012 Sky (Finals), 2011 Sky (Semi-Finals), 2008 Sky (Finals)
  • USYS National League Conference Play:
    – 1st Place and Undefeated: 2010 Navy
    – 1st Place: 2008 Navy
  • USYS East Regional Championships Participants: 2008 Navy
  • MYSA State Cup: 2010 Navy (Semi-finalists), 2007 Navy (Finalists)
  • 22 Male College Commitments D1-D3 (totaling 82 since inception in 2020)
  • U23 Collegiate Summer Program Expansion: 32 Player Rostered

 

 

State Girls

“It’s been another outstanding season for The New England Surf Girls State Program,” said Darren Gallagher, the Girls Director of Coaching. “Our teams have excelled in all of the league platforms that we have played in and we have once again found significant success in tournament play both at home and across the country! We are also excited to announce that we are closing in on reaching 25 State Girls College Commits and expect that number to rise quickly before the end of the year! While it is important to celebrate our successes and reflect on our challenges, we will always strive to achieve more as a program and a club. With that said, we are excited to enter the ECNL platform for our State Navy teams, NAL Platform for our Sky teams, and NECSL/RAL platform for our Royal teams in 2024/25. We are excited and confident about the new challenges that lie ahead.”

This season has been filled with remarkable achievements and milestones. Here are some of the highlights from this past winter and spring:

  • DPL National Championship Finalists: G2011 Navy and G2010 Navy
  • DPL Northeast Conference Champions: G2012 Navy, G2010 Navy, G2009 Navy, G2007 Navy
  • DPL National Championship Qualification: G2008 Sky and G2011 Navy
  • DPL Winter Showcase Champions: G2009, G2007, G2005/06
  • MA State Cup Champions: G2012 Navy and G2011 Navy
  • MA State Cup Runners Up: G2010 Navy and G2009 Sky
  • NECSL Final Four Champions: G2011 State Sky
  • 14 Female College Commitments D1-D3 (totaling 23 since inception in 2020)
  • U23 Collegiate Summer Program Expansion: 50 Player Rostered

Congratulations to all of our fantastic coaches and players on a memorable 2023/2024 season. Your successes have once again made the club proud! We look forward to taking bigger strides and achieving bigger things in 2024/25!
