2012 Girls Champions
New England Surf 2012 girl teams have had an extremely successful season, earning three titles and maintaining a nearly unbeaten season.
This year was the first year for NES’s pre-state program. Our 2012 Pre-State girls team coached by Andy Prosser set the standard high this year going 7 for 7 in Pre-National League games, along with a handful of tournament wins. The team is looking to finish the season on top by competing in the NECSL Championship this weekend against Rhode Island Surf as the number one seed.
Our 2012 Girls Metro Boston Navy Team has also had a record season. They ended at the top of the NECSL Flight 1 with 7 wins and 1 loss. They were crowned champions of the Surf Labor Day Tournament and The Seacoast Invitational, while being Runner-Ups at Copa Surf and Surf Challenge. Coach Jonny Bonner said, “The girls have been excellent all season – they have improved individually and also as a team. They have been a very enjoyable team to coach, they are committed, hard working and good fun.”
The 2012 Girls Metro Boston Sky Team won the Copa Surf Tournament back in March to kick off the Spring season. They fell just short in the Seacoast Invitational, earning second place in a tough bracket. The team dominated in the NECSL going undefeated and winning the Metro White division. Coach Erald commented on their season so far, “Thank you all for always being the best you can be when contributing to the team ! The way this team worked on this project made me incredibly happy and proud. This team is going to have many great achievements. Thank you for the hard work and the support!”
All three teams will compete this weekend in the NECSL Championships. Best of luck to our teams!
