This past weekend 2 of our State Teams competed in Surf Cup International Rome and our New England Surf Select Northeast Teams travelled to Florida to compete in the Easter Cup International!  We took the chance to give a quick recap on how things went!

Surf Cup International Rome

First up was our 2005B State Sky team who played 3 games including a final.  First match was a tough one against a really good side in ASA BU18, unlucky not to come away with anything.  Next game our boys showed what they were made of as they beat Campus Eur 1960 4-2!  That set the stage for a terrific final against Petriana Calcio where New England Surf came out victorious 5-2 on the day!  Well done boys!

Our 2009G State Sky also travelled to Rome to compete on the girls side and it was another success story!  Taking down CF Roma in the first game 1-0 followed by another 2-0 victory against SS Romulea in their second game!  To finish the group stage they came up against some stiff competition in Frosinone Calcio who came out with a narrow 1-0 victory.  That didn’t stop our girls as they faced CF Roma in the final, winning 3-1 this time!  A dominant display all weekend!

Easter Cup International

Boys Side:

Some great performances from our boys team down at Easter Cup International this past weekend!  Two notable teams were our 2013’s and 2011’s!

Our 2013’s absolutely dominated in the group stage.  Scoring 13 goals in 3 games and not conceding once!  This saw them cruise into the semi-finals against NEFC RDP who they shrugged aside 7-1!  In the final, their luck ran out against a mighty ANBFC United side.  A great weekend for the boys finishing in 2nd place!

Next up was our 2011’s who had a similar dominant group stage display!  Winning their first and last game 3-0 and 5-0 respectively.  This saw them advance into the semi-finals where they were able to get past FC Prime 4-2 on the day!  They then faced off against JAB IFA in the final and were unfortunate not to come away with more!  Finishing 2nd place in a tough group!

Girls Side:

Our girls teams really showed their class and came home with some trophies from the weekend!

First up was our 2011 and 2012 teams!  Playing in a combined age group division.  Both teams cruised to the semi-finals while dominating in the group stage of their brackets!  Which set up a 2011 vs 2012 New England Surf Select Northeast showdown!  As we know, there could only be 1 winner and it was our 2011’s who took down the 2012s in the semi’s.  This blockbuster game gave our 2011’s the motivation and momentum to win the final against FC Delco 2-1!  Well done girls!

Next was our 2010 age group who dominated the group stage.  Scoring 8 goals in 3 games and not conceding once!  Cruising their way into the semi-finals where they also came out victorious 3-1!  The final was an epic showdown between New England Surf Select Northeast and Baltimore Armour Academy which went all the way to penalties after a 4-4 scoreline!  Our girls came out on top thanks to Francie from New England Surf 2009G State Navy!  Well done Girls!

Last but not least was our 2009 team.  They proved too much to handle in the group stage winning 3/4 games and scoring 13 goals in the process.  They came up against Florida Hawks Futbol Club in the final who proved too strong on the day, winning an entertaining final 5-4.  Well done girls!
