South Shore Girls 2011 Navy Make Lasting Memories at the 2025 Surf Challenge in San Diego

January 27, 2025

The South Shore Girls 2011 Navy team recently traveled to San Diego to compete in the 2025 Surf Challenge, held at the beautiful Surf Sports Complex in Del Mar. The team was placed in the G2011 Flight 2 division and showed tremendous effort, finishing with a 1-1-1 record over the weekend.

The journey kicked off with an impressive 4-0 victory over Cardiff Sockers G2011 Yellow, setting a positive tone for the weekend. However, in their second match, the team faced a tough challenge against Sand and Surf Soccer Club 11G DPL and lost 3-0 in a hard-fought battle. Despite the setback, the South Shore Girls finished strong with a 1-1 draw against Nomads G2011 White in their final match.

But the experience wasn’t just about soccer. The team also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of San Diego. The girls visited the world-famous San Diego Zoo, hiked the breathtaking Sunset Cliffs National Park, and marveled at the seals at Point La Jolla. These unforgettable moments made the trip even more special.

Coach Danielle Gordon shared, “Between facing off against top teams and exploring the city, it was a weekend to remember. What made the trip truly unforgettable were the lifelong memories we created both on and off the field.”

This trip was an incredible experience for the players, coaches, and families alike. It’s one that will be cherished for years to come.
