
New England Surf Appoints Jaelyn Cunningham as Girls Goalkeeping Director
New England Surf is proud to announce the addition of Jaelyn Cunningham as the Girls Goalkeeping Director, with a focus on supporting the ECNL-RL program and broader club development. A former All-Big Ten goalkeeper and experienced NCAA Division I coach, Cunningham brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in developing elite-level goalkeepers.
Cunningham most recently served as Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach at the University of Houston, where she helped guide the team to its best start in program history (6-0-1) and secured the school’s first Big 12 Conference win. Her coaching background also includes successful stints at the University of Toledo, Queens University of Charlotte, and multiple high-level youth clubs, including HTX Soccer and Charlotte Soccer Academy.
As a player, Cunningham earned All-Big Ten honors at the University of Illinois and competed professionally with the Chicago Red Stars and Orlando Pride. She has also been part of the U.S. U17 and U20 National Team player pools, further highlighting her high-level experience and perspective.

Cunningham holds a USC Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma and has presented at the United Soccer Coaches Convention, underscoring her leadership and dedication to the position.
