At New England Surf, we believe that international travel experiences are a powerful driver of player development and team cohesion.

Playing abroad challenges athletes in new and meaningful ways. It exposes them to different styles of play, elevated levels of competition, and the need to adapt to unfamiliar environments—all of which push players outside of their comfort zones and accelerate growth. Beyond the technical and tactical benefits, these experiences teach valuable life skills: independence, resilience, adaptability, and cultural awareness.

Equally important is the impact on team bonding. Traveling together, navigating new places, and sharing once-in-a-lifetime moments off the field helps players develop trust and connection. These experiences foster a deeper sense of team identity and create lasting memories that strengthen the group for seasons to come.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce that, in partnership with Global Sports Experiences (GSE), our U12 State Age Groups will begin traveling internationally earlier in their development pathway:

• Navy: Competing at Surf Cup International Salou beginning in November 2026 (2026–27 season)

• Sky: Attending the IDA Easter Cup in Valencia starting in Spring 2026 (2025–26 season)

• Royal: Also attending the IDA Easter Cup in Valencia beginning in Spring 2026 (2025–26 season)
